🇩🇰 NURSING REMUNERATION — DENMARK
Collective-agreement based nursing pay, pension and experience-related supplements.
HOW NURSING PAY IS STRUCTURED
Denmark does not use one single national nursing salary table. Pay is determined through collective agreements according to the sector in which the nurse works. Regional, municipal and state-employed nurses are covered by separate agreements.
| Employment area | Pay structure | Key factor |
|---|---|---|
| Regional hospitals | Collective agreement | Experience + area + supplements |
| Municipal nursing | Collective agreement | Experience + area + supplements |
| State employment | State collective agreement | Agreement + local pay |
REGIONAL NURSES — EXPERIENCE
Regional nursing pay includes increases linked to 4, 8 and 10 years of seniority.
| Seniority | Pay progression |
|---|---|
| 0–3 years | Starting salary |
| 4–7 years | Higher annual supplement |
| 8–9 years | Higher salary step |
| 10+ years | Additional seniority supplement |
SELECTED 2026 SUPPLEMENTS
Regional nurses working at least 300 hours annually outside ordinary daytime hours receive a shift supplement of DKK 1,115 per month from 1 July 2026. Certain acute and medical ward nurses receive a function supplement of DKK 827 per month.
PENSION
The regional OK26 agreement increases the pension contribution for non-managerial regional nurses to 15%.
